Bouza do Rei Albariño | Rias Baixes
Bouza do Rei is situated in the heart of the Salnés valley near the coast of north west Spain. This 100% Albariño is one of the finest we've tried for some time and remarkable for under £10. A wonderful balance of freshness and character, it is supreme with Paella and at 12.5% a very easy to drink aperitif.
Our tasting notesFloral and fairly intense on the nose with a delightfully crisp and perfectly balanced palate. The classic combination of aromatics, stone fruit and minerality that is found in good Albarino. Drink 2012-2014.
Wine dataGrape variety: Albariño
Appellation: Rias Baixas
About AlbariÑoAlbariño has enjoyed great popularity of late but before the establishment of the Rias Baixas appellation in 1986 this grape variety was hardly known. Now it is grown mainly in the Galicia region of Spain, where it’s at its best in Rias Baixas, and the north of Portugal. A few Australian producers have also started experimenting with it in various blends. At its finest Albariño is capable of producing wines of great sophistication and character.
